Pura Goa Giri Putri

Giri Putri Cave is one of the largest caves in Nusa Penida. Located at an altitude of 150 meters above sea level and about 310 meters long, Goa Giri Putri Temple is never empty of visitors. Apart from the people who want to pray, tourists who come, both domestic and foreign, mostly want to know more about the religious rituals carried out and the sacred atmosphere in the cave.

Pura Goa Giri Putri Nusa Penida comes from the word "giri" which means hill or mountain and the word "putri" which means woman. In Hinduism, daughters are a symbolic form of divine power. Because this holy cave is a place of worship for Shiva in the form of a manifestation of the goddess who cares for, protects and loves humans, the name Giri Putri was given to the name of the cave.
